Rubicon is a four week sabbatical program for those wishing to develop new found self-awareness and to learn skills for translating this into greater self-confidence, resilience, enthusiasm and interpersonal effectiveness. It is designed for those at transition points in their lives, for developing leaders, or for those feeling in need of personal growth.

The program will take place at the Good Samaritan Congregational Centre in Glebe, Sydney. It will offer an in-depth exploration of the self, identifying and working with gifts as well as growth points. While some individual work will be part of the process, most of the course will be in the form of collaborative groups, on the premise that
“we become human through our interactions with other humans“
African Proverb

The program will combine psychoeducational modules and workshops with daily interpersonal group work and individual mentoring as well creative activities, including art therapy, music therapy, dream work, psychodrama and journalling.

The focus is on regeneration through collaborative brainstorming and nurturing rather than competition or critique, in order to foster among individuals a growing sense of confidence and resilience.

In a spirit of holistic attention, spiritual direction will be offered as an option, as will a number of cultural and outdoor pursuits.

Following on from a very successful Rubicon 2006 and 2007, the next program will run from 1 - 26 September 2008 . It is a non-residential course, but accommodation will be available at the Good Samaritan's Polding Villa for those who require it.
