Encompass offers two types of psychological assessment:

The Life Review Assessment is a comprehensive five day assessment designed to provide a thorough and holistic understanding of each person's unique story and situation so that recommendations for healing can be made. It is typically aimed at those who are in some distress or are struggling with an issue in their lives, whether it be depression, alcohol abuse, sexuality or a pattern of behaviour that is impairing them in their functioning (eg. socially or in the workplace).

The New Beginnings Assessment is a three day assessment, typically offered at a time of initial or continuing formation, or at a time when a change in ministry or other part of the journey is being contemplated. It is not so much focused on defining and offering strategies to address a problem but more a chance to stop and take stock.

Both the Life Review and New Beginnings assessments combine written reflection with a variety of psychological testing, spiritual reflection, face to face interviews and psychosocial history taking to help clients review their life process. The Life Review assessment also includes a medical examination, psychiatric interview and neuropsychological assessment.

Our assessments are unique in their multifaceted review of your life. By attending to the mystery of the whole person our team and the client are able to identify practical suggestions to facilitate the next stage in the journey.

All assessments culminate in a feedback session where staff meet with the client to openly communicate and discuss their findings and make recommendations. A comprehensive report detailing these findings is also sent to the client and, if agreed to by the client, the referring person.
